Digital End of School Year Memory Book
North Dakota hasn’t officially announced it yet, but I think we might be preparing to finish our school year out online. Of course, I have mixed emotions about this. I miss my students. I can’t imagine not getting a chance to say, “See ya later! You’re going to do awesome in 7th grade!” However, I also understand that our health and safety is our number one priority right now.
There are so many end of year activities that I love, but one of my favorites is having the students make memory lap books. Although my students won’t be able to make a physical memory lap book this year, I still wanted them to be able to make something that would help them reflect on their school year.
My happy medium was to create a digital end of school year memory book for my students that would allow them to be able to reflect on the past school year, remember all of the amazing memories that were made, and give them something fun to do besides their typical assignments.
I am using this digital end of school year memory book for middle school students, but this could easily be a fun activity for elementary or high school students.
My plan is to send this digital memory book out a week or so in advance to give my students ample time to insert their memories. Then I am hoping to have students who would like to, share their digital memory lap books online with us during our scheduled Google Hangout times. This can easily be done by having students share their screens as they tell us everything they put into their digital memory books.
Another great option would be to have students fill out their end of school year memory books, share them with you, and then you could print them and either mail them to the student as a keepsake, or put into the file for another year.
