March is here, and if I know anything about teaching in March, it's that this is when things start to get a little chaotic!
It's such an exciting time during the school year though too!
The weather is getting nicer, state basketball is underway, spring sports are right around the corner, there's prom, senior banquets, state testing... so much goodness, but at the same time.. just soo much..
And honestly, your students might be feeling the choas too which might cause your classroom management to feel a little out of control and you might be looking for a few strategies for behavior management.
You might even be at the point of asking yourself, “What’s classroom management?” lol, but I hope not!
If your students are starting to forget their classroom expectations and need a little incentive to stay on task, I have just the thing for you.
Let's talk about the March Kindness Challenge!
March Classroom Kindness Challenge
The March Kindness Challenge is a great way to reset expectations and work towards a few classwide goals.
The hope is that after reviewing expectations with your students, you can come up with a list of what it would take for students to earn a shamrock at the end of each day.
After 5 (or a number of your choosing) shamrocks, your students will get a classwide treat that you've all agreed upon.
After 10, another. And 15, another. And hopefully, by the end of the month, they've earned all 20 (or whatever number you're working towards)!
Though we don't always like to bribe our students, sometimes it's just what it takes.
